rn field case management

I was able to get into case management at a health department. I do case management for high risk peds patients. After 2 years, I was eligible to sit for my certification, so i did and I passed. I am still in my same position, but would imagine that once certified, the field would open up for you. How long have you been out of workman's comp?

I did workers comp almost 6 yrs ago. I am looking for a field position that can be done from home

Hospice nurses provide short term *acute" case management and bedside care. Have you considered this field?

If you're looking at being a case manager in the home setting and can't get in it with the coordinator experience, you may have to start out as a utilization management/review nurse for insurance and work your way to case manager from that direction. There are insurance companies that do allow their case managers to work from home after these case managers have worked in the office for a while. I think it's going to be important to get your foot in the door of whatever employer employs case managers and go from there. Also, don't forget to check out disease management companies. They also may have opportunities for you to work from home as a case manager.
