RN to BSN to MSN

I am looking for some recommendations. I have been researching schools, and would like to end up getting my MSN. I need to get my BSN in order to work in a lot of the facilities around me. My question is what are peoples experiences with different RN to BSN programs? Any recommendations? Anyone done an RN to MSN program with a BSN stop degree in the middle? I think I would like a school that I can take classes online, and something more accelerated. Most of the RN to BSN programs take 2 years to complete. There are so many options, and I can't seem to find one that is the right fit. Also when I am researching I see a lot of the same online schools popping up, Help!!! All suggestions are helpful.

Lots of people do their BSN in a year or less, some even in six month with WGU. Have you considered skipping the BSN and doing and RN to MSN program? Most can be done in 2 years.

I have looked at RN to MSN programs, and the programs that i have looked at require 2 years as a RN. i am a new grad.

WGU has an RN to MSN program as well!

*** No they don't. Their program is RN to BSN to MSN. An RN to MSN is a program where an ADN earns an MSN without already having, or earning a bachelors degree.

Well on WGU's website there's 2 RN-MSN program. Leadership/Management option and Education option. It says the programs are for Registered nurses (RNs) who possess an associate’s degree or diploma in nursing.

The enrollment counselor I spoke with says you take a min of 12 CU's of the bachelor coursework and a min of 8 CU's of the graduate coursework each term. So yes, you do not need a BSN first with WGU.

*** Hmm, not sure what that has to do with this discussion. However Since WGU REQUIRES a nurse to earn a BSN on the way to their MSN, unlike some other schools, it's not really an RN to MSN program. More like and RN to BSN to MSN.

A true RN to MSN would be a program were an associated degree RN earns a MSN without first having a bachelors degree and does NOT earn one on their way to MSN. The graduate would have a total of two degrees in nursing, an associates and a masters.
