Nope. They would count previous education but working experience will not take the place of courses.RMA is not a nurse and you cannot become an LPN on line.

RMA-to-LPN programs do not exist anywhere in the United States.

The RMA (registered medical assistant) job is part of the medical model of care provision, while the LPN role is part of the nursing model of care. Since the focus of each role is so very different, you're going to have to start from scratch. There's no shortcuts in your situation. Good luck to you.

Yup, exactly what the two people above me said. I'm a CMA but I want to be a nurse so I'm currently going to school to become an LPN right now. I had to start from scratch, unfortunately nothing credits wise from medical assisting will ever transfer over. At first I was a little upset, but looking back I def see why. It's actually interesting to see just how different the two professions are. Attending school for Nursing is 10 times harder then going to school for medical assisting was, that was literally a piece of cake compared to this. As a Nurse you're responsible for & required to know & execute tons more. The good thing is, that because you are an RMA you will be one step ahead of any others in your class that may not have any experience at all =)
