I was accepted to the nursing programs at NH Tech in Nashua and Rivier College, and after a lot of soul-searching and number-crunching, I've decided on Rivier. I sent in my deposit and forms yesterday.
Now that I've made the decision, I feel MUCH better about it. I though I may be apprehensive, and second-guess myself, but I haven't one bit. I even ordered my stethoscope, safety goggles and nursing shoes. I wasn't sure if the nursing shoes I was looking at were appropriate (the form stated NO sneakers, but Nursemates were allowed. I was looking at white Nursemates sneakers, so I wasn't sure), so I called and spoke to one of the directors of the nursing program. She was just the nicest woman, and told me to dress for comfort, etc. Just that quick, simple phone conversation really, REALLY made me feel good about my choice. Now I'm going to notify the Tech on Monday, so my spot there can go to someone else quickly. I know how awful that waiting is!
Just wondering, are there any grads/student in the program there now? I'm starting in the fall of this year in the AD program. I've done most of my pre-req's at NHTI, but I still have both A&P's and Micro left. I was STUNNED when I found out I was awarded a Transfer Scholarship because of my high GPA, but I have to maintain full-time status to utilize it. I would eventually like to get my BSN through Rivier, so I may sub in some of the Core courses for the BSN program so I can be full-time. I haven't quite decided on that yet though. On the other hand, just being able to concentrate on the nursing courses would be a big plus. I have a one hour commute each way, plus a husband and 4 kids. The less on my plate might be better.
But I still have a while to decide. I hope to take A&P 1 this summer - somewhere, either at NHTI where I am now, or maybe through Riv.

Are you entering for the Fall 2005 program?
If you are when did they do the acceptance for NHTC Nashua?
