I have an issue with all these online applications, that they essentially ask you to repeat all the info that's in the resume. Why do I have to input my degrees (including HS for crying out loud!), names of references, job history, license number etc. etc. when it's all there in the resume!!
I don't mind answering "extra" questions like "Why do you want to work here?" or "What do you think you can offer us as an employee?" But having to constantly re-enter the same information that's in the resume is getting aggravating. And these applications don't let you skip anything either.

That's part of the application process- making it difficult to apply filters out the people who can't be bothered to fill out the forms.
Also, most online places where you submit your resume likely don't actually look at your resume, just the form you fill out.

I find those forms really annoying too! Another frustrating thing about them is when there is a "yes/no" question, and what you really need is an "other" option. My personal fave is when there are multiple pages to fill out, and they feed them to you 1 page at a time (with no indication of how many pages you have left to fill out before you can finally press that submit button!).
Lately I've been having technical difficulty with some of the sites. I fill in the whole application and press save, and then it goes right back to the beginning. Another time, it submitted the same application four times.
There's also no way to remove an application once you've submitted it, for example if you realize you applied for the wrong job.

Oh, believe me, I know how frustrating it can get. There's a certain hospital that, whenever I apply for it, I have to preemptively yell at my husband to leave me alone and make sure there's nothing nearby that looks satisfying to throw.
I just did an application to this hospital, got all the way through, clicked submit- and got logged out with an error message. I pretty much lost it for a few minutes, lol.
Sometimes if I'm really having difficulties I call HR. Some hospitals are nice and tell you where you can send your info. Or they tell you to come down and apply in person. Ummm, I'm only about 1000 miles away.
