Hello Everyone:
I just gotten my results today for my nclex-pn...which I failed. 6 areas of ,near the passing standard. 1 ,above , and the other 1, below the passing standard, total of 8 area . So for me I only pass one area..I thought I did much better but I didn't. What the letter also said was they could not tell you if you were close or far from above the pass standard. BUT you have to have all areas of ABOVE the passing standard to get a pass ? I had all 205 questions, so now I can reschedule in 45 days mid May.First I have to get a better plan of study. Has this happen to anybody before? I feel a little loss for words .... I did way to much studying to get that low of score..WOW...

All areas must be above the passing line not near or below. Is that what you are asking?
No it says on the letter that you have to be ABOVE passing level in all the levels. I was close to above with 6 but below in the other 1 other. For me I wasn't sure what all that meant,? Maybe to just try and pass above the level which is 50% ..right?
50% is not the passing level. The passing level is much higher than 50% and statistically more complicated than just get more than half the questions correct as per the test guide published by the NCSBN.
You need to focus on your areas that you were not above the passing standard.
It sounds like if you had that many areas below or near the passing standard you need to review content then focus on test taking strategies. Hurst & Saunders are reportedly good for content. Kaplan offers test taking strategies. Test taking strategies will help decode the questions and find the correct answers.
Well yes I understand that but what the OBN said was that, near the passing level mean I was very close to above passing level. For me I was confused because I thought they would give a better break down of content wise. I will go over everything again, again and again until I am ready. What I found out was YOU have to answer question nclex style way. Give them what they want not what you learned through school. Also she said being so close to near passing level means I do know ...the below passing level meaning I don't understand ... I need more help to understand...Having all 205 questions the last 60 questions made a big deal to.

DO as suggested above.. it seems like you were close, which probably means you need to probably need to review content, Make sure you read the whole questions, and understand what is it that they are asking you.. remember that most of the options are correct, but they need the BEST answer. you took the NCLEX-PN, and all your test will be NCLEX type questions, what were you expecting?
Not sure what did you use to review, but all the books, or review programs always offer an explanation of what the test is, and also very good strategies..
