Restrictive Resuscitation

I am wondering if there are any hospitals out there that use Restricitive Resuscitation orders/Limited Resuscitations orders. Such as check boxes to select yes or no for: CPR, defibrillation, intubation, ACLS Drugs, etc.

If you have restrictive resuscitation orders, how does that work in your facility? How is it operationalized?

We have computerized order entry, so when the doc puts the code status order in, I believe they check what they want and what they don't want for the code status. I don't put those orders in so I am not 100% sure how the order entry works. Once the order is in, the code status is on top of the Kardex. If they are a limited code, the Kardex will state what they don't want, which can be kind of confusing at times. And we put different colored bracelets on for DNR vs limited code. Everyone is told who is a DNR/limited code at the start of the shift also.

In my home health exp there is cases of restrictive resuscitation. It is noted in MANY places in the chart. One example was ok for oxygen, but no chest compressions.
