What requirements did you need, in order to get accepted into the nursing program?
Did you need to have an interview with the Director of Nursing?.... If so what kinds of questions were asked.
Thanks!

Hello!
I went to aprivate school for my nursing program. All they required was a GPA => 2.75, TEAS V score 76+, pass background check, pre-req courses. I had no interview with the DON to get in. The institution I went is small, so once you got into the school, there was no waiting to get into the program.
Now, my local community colleges and public universities have long waiting lists... 1-2 year wait after you complete your pre-reqs. So, what I did to save money was to take most of my pre-reqs at the local CC, then transferred to this expensive school to take my last two pre-reqs and continue on into nursing core classes... no waiting in between semesters.
Hope that helps somehow.

Requirements vary depending on the school. Look into the schools you are interested in to see what they require. Some basics would be high gpa (try 3.0 or higher), good grades in science courses (try all As), and high test scores (depend what tests your school require you to take). You may need to write a great essay, basically all depends on the school. Good luck!

So I realized I didnt answer your question :)
I needed a min gpa of 3.0, TEAS scores higher than 80%, high grades on science courses, volunteer exp helps, and an essay. I went to an interview for one school, but it was very laid back. They only asked me if I had any questions about the school or program, they said it was only so they could get to know me.

For me:
at least 2.75 GPA in nursing prerequisites
at least 2.75 overall GPA
certain scores on the TEAS math and reading sections
That's all. No essay, no interview. Hopefully I will get an acceptance letter in the next few weeks! Sometimes I think the whole "at least this specific GPA" is misleading, because I know the majority of people accepted at this particular nursing program have 4.0s in their nursing prerqs. The average GPA of those accepted is what is important.

That's not bad. I must maintain a 3.3.... Which is doable but will be demanding
