i have worked in a state without registeration , but was registered in another state in India .

i was unaware at that time that i cannot accept job offer without getting registeration .the hospital gave me few months to transfer my RN license to that state and i started working.

do you think it was illegal ?and if yes what is the solution now?

CRNBC requires explanation for this from the state where i worked without registration .please help what is the solution now?and that regulatory body says "we do not honour non-registered nurses" and they wont explain or give any letter regarding my work .

Yikes. If I understand you right, you moved from India to work in the US. Unclear if you are saying you took NCLEX, received license in a state (which?) and then moved to another state to work. If I am getting this correctly you have a license to practice somewhere in the US, but not where you are working now. If this is the case then yes you are in a bit of trouble.

Every state in the US has its own board of nursing, and that regulatory body determines whether you meet the requirements to practice as a nurse in that state. If you are working as a nurse in a state in which you do not have a license, that is most certainly illegal and consequences can be anything from a minor disciplinary measure to never receiving a license in that state. Only the Board of Nursing will know what they want to do with you.

Again just making sure I'm understanding you, you're saying that your employer has given you a few months to get a license in the state where you are now? They can't allow you to work even one day as a nurse if they know you aren't licensed to work there, unless they are offering you a patient care aide job in the meantime?

About the only thing you can do is contact the board of nursing where you want to get licensed, explain that you were ignorant of the rules regarding moving between states, and jump through whatever hoops they put in place for you to do in order to get a license. They may want you to get more education, or they may deny your request altogether. I'm sorry but that's how it is. Good luck!

I'm just now realizing you are probably talking about Canada. When you said "another state" I thought you mean one in the US. But now I think you meant province.

Someone from Canada can best answer this then.

thanks a lot for your response.

i am in british colunbia,Canada right now and has LPN REGISTRATION

Referring back to the situation , i was in India when this happened .

there are two states in India - Haryana and Punjab .

so, I was registered in Haryana but worked in Punjab .without license

i was ignorant of the rules, yes , you are right .

i wanna take NCLEX in Canada .

So, do you think this situation can affect my current license which i already have in Canada, which is a LPN one?

do you think this CRNBC college can inform my CLPNBC college about this situation and my license could be cancelled?because i never declared this illegal work situation before .

i am so scared , so i haven't taken any action yet but please guide me , what specific wording should i tell to the college to get some sympathy ?NCLEX is my dream of 2017 .i can't let it go :( :(

i am in trouble .i have already paid $2000 in total to get all the evaluation done .my college , university and regulatory body , everybody is corrupt .they took a lot of money to provide confirmation of my documents , even though i was the topper of my university ,

:( its so sad , but nobody understand this thing in Canada ,

I'm sorry I'm not in Canada so really not who should be answering you but I hate to see your posts just sitting here not getting an answer!

Please forgive my questions, but I want to be sure I am getting this right. I see you're asking how to go about getting approved to take the NCLEX but if you already have a license to practice (LPN) in Canada, are you now talking about taking a NCLEX for an RN license? Or is it that you DON'T have a Canadian license to practice nursing in the first place and that's where this mess comes in?

I hope someone who can better help you will come along soon. Maybe this board isn't active enough to help with the question, and it should be asked on a board frequented by Canadian nurses?

hi

thanks for helping me .

LPN and RN are two different licenses , LPN is lower grade than RN .

This mess came from india:P

I want eligibility for NCLEX from british columbia .

when i applied for the eligibility of LPN , then i never showed any work experience , because i knew that would have given me trouble .

but now I declared my work experience . because i thought that will help to fasten the process of eligibility for NCLEX and i will not get more hoopes .

there was no practicals and competencies before 2016 , but now there are.i thought if i will show my work experience then i might not get competency .

but the opposite happened .

Does the Punjab Nursing Council know you worked without a license? If so, what happened? When the hospital in Punjab told you that you could have a few months to transfer your license to that state, did you start the process of applying for your license in that state? While you were working in Punjab were you classified as a grad nurse or a registered nurse?

So, do you think this situation can affect my current license which i already have in Canada, which is a LPN one?

do you think this CRNBC college can inform my CLPNBC college about this situation and my license could be cancelled?because i never declared this illegal work situation before .

i am so scared , so i haven't taken any action yet but please guide me , what specific wording should i tell to the college to get some sympathy ?NCLEX is my dream of 2017 .i can't let it go :( :(

Suggest you speak to a lawyer who is familiar with nursing licensing in BC, they can advise you and help you with specific wording for your letter and guide you with future interactions with the CRNBC and CLPNBC.

I think this is one of those difficult situations when the truth will set you free but first it will make you miserable... stay strong akaur you will get through this.

YES , PNRC knows about this and they don't care .i contacted them that please give me a letter saying something even if i did something wrong because i need to show that to CRNBC that i have contacted you .and PNRC said we do not honor non-registered nurses .transfer your registration to PNRC first and then we will listen to you.

this is ridiculous and here in Canada , CRNBC thinks i am lying and PNRC cannot say that .i sent tons of emails to PNRC and made tons of phone call.they do not respond to anything .

i will show all the emails to CRNBC , may be that will help.

but CRNBC says if they wont receive anything from PNRC , my application will not be processed:( :(
