Refresher Course for RN in NC

Hi Everybody!

I am and international trained nurse who move to USA 6 years ago. I will be taking NCLEX-RN on March 26, but I just learned that if I pass the test still have to take a refresher course becouse I haven't work as a nurse in the pass 5 years. Now I don't know what to do first. Do you guys think that this course will help with nclex since I have been out school since 2002??? I am doing Sounder online review and kaplan, but still not feel confident. Also if anybody knows price and lenght of this type of refresher course I will appreciate any help. Thanks!

Usually, AFAIK, you have to be licensed to be eligible for a refresher course (so you would need to pass NCLEX and get licensed first), and the BON can provide information about the refresher courses approved by the BON.

A list of approved refresher courses should be on the state Board site. If not, contact them for the info. Good luck.

Thank you!

The only refresher course I know is in Fayetteville, NC. It cost about $1500 and is a year long. Please check and make sure this hasn't changed. I checked on this in 2001. Tiny3:nurse:
