Refresher course for getting RN?

I have been out of school and working in an Assisted Living facility for 5 years. I want to got back fro my RN ( Im an LPN) but I am afraid I am going to be rusty and have forgotten many things that I don't have or use daily. Any suggestions? Are there any books or courses to help?

Figure out what school you want to go to and find out what their requirements are for getting in...this may take some legwork, as (in my experience) many schools will not tell you outright about the additional hoops that you will have to jump through after you get in the program. My school utilizes ATI. After acceptance into the LPN-RN bridge program, you have to take the ATI Step Test. This is to see "where you are at" and to figure out if you are at the level that you should be at when you are entering the RN program. In other words, you can get "in" the program and still get kicked out before you have even started. I remember that they gave the LPN students a practice test online for the Step Test, but I'm not sure if the students that weren't immediately coming from the LPN program had access to them. Also, I would brush up on your LPN skills. The Saunders NCLEX study guide is a great help. Good luck!

You can breakout your old fundamentals book, mine had a cd.

What are you rusty with?

I'm a LPN , and now I'm in a traditional RN program, my facility has a cohort program at the local cc they pay for you to go for your RN, but it's not a bridge. It is only 1 semester longer then the bridge program.

You could look into a program like that.

Good luck
