Recommended experience time before CCRN

Usually there is a required number of hours of recent specialty experience listed on the application instructions, therefore all exam applicants have at least the minimum experience and some have years more. However, once a nurse has the minimum experience, success on the exam is probably more related to study habits than longer lengths of experience.

And. OP, I feel.compelled to mention to you (and I do not mean to be snarky) that "yall" is not a word. I noticed you used it extensively in another thread. Just as textspeak is unprofessional written communication, so is the repeated use of "yall" in place of "all" in written communication.

I understand your accent - but honestly at some time you're going to go back to school for your BSN and even professors in Louisiana are going to ding you for writing "yall". Word to the wise and all.

As to your original question.

Option 1: Practice as an RN or APRN for 1,750 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill patients during the previous 2 years, with 875 of those hours accrued in the most recent year preceding application.

Option 2: Practice as an RN or APRN for at least 5 years with a minimum of 2,000 hours in direct care of acutely/critically ill patients, with 144 of those hours accrued in the most recent preceding applucation.
