Recommendations for 2024 NP PROGRAMS

Based on where I am currently licensed and would love to reside, please offer 1 or 2 of your BEST RECOMMENDATIONS (if possible) from schools below:

  • 2 schools that you or everyone recommends in GEORGIA?
  • Troy University's FNP option?
  • Western Governor's University NP Program?
  • 2 CALIFORNIA NP PROGRAMS that you would recommend above any others?

For California, I am familiar with UCSF and have been a preceptor to their AGACNP students. The students in that program are well selected and perform really well in clinicals. The lectures the students get are well presented...I have looked at the students' PowerPoints and can attest to the quality.

Worked with UCLA grads...it's a mixed bag I would say but majority of the grads are excellent.

I think Troy has a good reputation, or at least it used to, in GA.
For CA, local brick-and-mortar is the way to go. CA is NOT friendly to the online, "Mill-NP schools." Avoid West Coast and RUN from United States University. Both are mills, especially USU. Most of the state schools should be good.
I'd recommend a school that has "on-site intensives" or OSCEs, so you can MEET your faculty and other student colleagues. Good luck! You are smart to do your due dillegence! ?
