hi...i am a nurse from the Philippines and currently holding a California license. i am leaving for new york on April. can anyone help me on how to have my California license be changed to New York license so i can practice there as a registered nurse. is there any online processing that i can work on while i am still in the Philippines? sorry for this question but it's along story why i took the CA NCLEX when my destination is New York.

There is no reciprocity. There is a procedure for NYS called "licensure by endorsement".

You will need to do CVS as a foreign trained nurse and would suggest you start the ball rolling now as it can take up to 6 months before it goes to the NY BON. You will also need to get CA to forward your results to NY and there is a form and a small fee for that. Suggest you have a read in this forum as there are threads on here discussing both

CVS takes approx 6-8 months as a lot will depend on how quickly CGFNS ask for the information and how quickly the information is returned to them.

@thestrella...nope, i'm still waiting for it...ny bon is also waiting for cvs before they can issue my license.

yup, i'm from the philippines and i just started my application in june so i've been waiting for 4 months only.
