reciprocity with CA

I am interested in working in California as a nurse. I am a Costa Rican nurse that wants to go practice in the States. I hear that it's difficult to go thru the process of being a foriegn nurse in California but i understand that there are other states that have reciprocity with the State of California. Does anyone know where i might find more information regarding this process and the reciprocity with California? Thanks in advance for any help.

There is no such thing as reciprocity. If you get a license from another state, you may then apply to get a CA license by endorsement (you need one which issues the license without a social security number since you won't have one until you get to the US - California does not).

Only the NCLEX exam has reciprocity, licenses do not.

Please take the time to read the Primer at the top of this forum for information that you need to be aware of.
