Re-entry after 8 years leave

Hello,

Im a registered nurse. I graduated in 2004 with an Assiciates degree in Nursing.

After many life changing events, I left nursing in 2009. I'm now considering going back. I'm 54 years old and I don't know what area of nursing to go into. If I decide to go back into hospital nursing , I will need my bachelors degree. This is something I would do online...any suggestions? Also, how do I go about re-entering the nursing field? Do I need to take a refresher class? I'm not sure how to go about doing... any suggestions on who I might talk to about this?

There are many, many online RN-BSN programs. I would suggest starting with your state schools to keep tuition down. I assume you've kept your license active all this time? If not, you'll need to contact your state BON. You may want to start with them, anyways, to see if you need a refresher course.
