3rd interview

Specialties Case Management

Published

Hi,

great site with good advice. I was wondering if anyone else went through 3 interviews for a case manager position. I was called for a third interview with the physician at the office where I would be working. I'm really discouraged. They seem to be having a hard time making up their mind. I have 25 years of varied hospital experience but no CM experience.

Did anyone else go through 3 interviews and get the position.:uhoh3:

Thanks,

Deb

Try this............

Interview 1: With the main CM dept at the hospital.......in Dec 07

Interview 2: back in January......... with the physicians Research nurse, the personal secretary and outpatient CM

Interview 3: back in February.............with 4 of the 5 physicians

Interview 4: yesterday with the Top of the 5 physicians.........

Once I got past the first interview then they became more detailed. The 2nd.... they asked general questions about my background and went into a small amt of detail about what the job entailed.....lasted about an hour

The 3rd and 4th..... esp the 3rd........... the 4 physicians told me what had happened with the last 2 CM.... what was bad.... what they wanted different....what they wanted the new CM to do........ they all said that they had rushed when interviewing and hiring the past CM and did not want to do that again. This interview took about 3 hours

I finally met with the last of the 5 physicians yesterday..lasted about 20 minutes. He basically said the same as the other 4 about what was wanted and needed.

Even though it is a hospital funded position.... I will only be doing the case management for this one group of physicians.

After waiting since Dec of 07 to have all these interviews.... I was home all of about 30 minutes yesterday and the HR dept called me to ask me to come by on Monday so that they could make me an offer. Guess waiting it out was worth it!

Yes, thanks. Mine paid off too. I got the position!

Congrats to both of you!:yeah:
