Yes, thanks. Mine paid off too. I got the position!
  2. Hi, great site with good advice. I was wondering if anyone else went through 3 interviews for a case manager position. I was called for a third interview with the physician at the office where I would be working. I'm really discouraged. They seem to be having a hard time making up their mind. I have 25 years of varied hospital experience but no CM experience. Did anyone else go through 3 interviews and get the position. Thanks, Deb

Two questions I have about tips procedures if anyone is doing a lot of them. Are they ever emergency cases? Our doc says no. Also do you send them to ICU afterwards or can they go to a medsurg floor? Thanks, Deb
  4. I transported an ICU patient who's sputum cultures hadn't come back yet. He was in respiratory isolation so I gowned, gloved and put a mask on. The ID nurse saw me on the way back and had a FIT! She said we were not to wear gloves, gown and mask in the hallways because it's against JACHO rules. This doesn't sound right to me, is it? Thanks, Deb
  5. At your hospitals, if your patient needs to travel for a diagnostic study (CT, XRay, MRI), who transports the patient? In our hospital it is the job of the radiology nurse and we feel it is unsafe because we don't know the patients. Thanks, Deb
  6. Thank you so much. That really helps!
  7. Hi, I posted this on the radiology site but I need more feedback for a meeting. In our hospital it is current practice to have the radiology nurses transport the ICU patients for any imaging study. We feel this is unsafe for the patient because we don't know them. Is this common in any other hospitals? Thanks, Deb
  8. This is a big issue at our hospital, too. No matter how unstable the ICU patient is, vented, lines, VS, the ICU will not lend a hand. Do other rad nurses also have to transport ICU patients? We are trying to phase it out at our hospital. Very unsafe.
