Quick update

Greetings All,

It's been awhile and I am proud to say I have successfully completed my first semester of nursing school! It was tough but do-able. The hardest part about this semester was the critical thinking questions and the CARE PLANS! The critical thinking questions really had me stuck because there were always TWO answer choices that we're seemingly correct, but in true nursing fashion it was all about prioritizing and selecting which option outweighed the other. I had a tough time in the beginning but with practice I caught on. The care plan....where do i begin, I was stressed LOL! from the scientific rationale to the psychosocial diagnosis'. My advise to first time nursing students doing a care plan is to 1. pick a patient that has a common disease entity so that if your professor asks that you write a research paper you can find one that is within the 5 year limit or an article at all. 2. Stay away from positive psychosocial diagnosis', sounds cynical but trust me if you are inexperienced in writing care plans and don't really have any outside help, you'll be saving yourself from a lot of stress. 3.PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL and 4. Make sure your scientific rationale backs up your diagnosis. I made many mistakes with my first care plan, but I am optimistic that with the next one I will be on target. Another thing, if you think you're going to be able to pass without reading, you are mistaken! You must dedicate yourself to school and your books while you're in a nursing program. I am not saying completely cancel out your social life because you do need a break every now and then, but PRIORITIZE. I believe with hard work , dedication and desire anyone can successfully complete nursing school and go on to be which ever nurse they are aspiring to be! I wish all the present and future nursing students luck on their journey in becoming a Nurse. I hope I was insightful!

God Bless!
