Quick question about the TEAS test

Published

I'm currently applying to nursing programs, and I was just wondering if most schools allow you to apply to the program and then take the TEAS exam. Because if a student isn't accepted into a single program they applied to, will they have needed to spend money on taking that TEAS exam?

To current nursing students: I'm curious how your application process went, and when you took the TEAS. Thanks so much for your input!

TEAS test is one of the things that they look at when making a decision on whether to accept you into their program.

Teas test results were part of the application package (transcripts, immunizations, background check, drug screen).

You have to take it before you will be accepted. It was given a portion of the total points needed for admission at my school.

At my school, you have to take it before applying. It is part of the score they give you. I don't have to pay though to take mine. It is offered at my school.

You need to take it before you apply. You only have to take it once, and then you request that ATI send the transcript to the schools. Look at the program websites. This will generally be on there.

Your TEAS score is generally factored into whether or not you're accepted. Every school I applied to required that you had your TEAS transcript to them when you applied.

I applied to CSU programs throughout the state, and took the TEAS the January before I applied.

Be aware, too, that many schools will only allow you to take it once, so be sure to nail it on the first try.
