  1. I'm currently applying to nursing programs, and I was just wondering if most schools allow you to apply to the program and then take the TEAS exam. Because if a student isn't accepted into a single program they applied to, will they have needed to spend money on taking that TEAS exam? To current nursing students: I'm curious how your application process went, and when you took the TEAS. Thanks so much for your input!
  2. So bottom line-minus the whining and complaining is this: I have a C in microbiology and I don't think that's good enough. Okay, so here's the rest of the whining and complaining: I have a B in every prerequisite science class right now, and I don't feel like that's going to get me through. I'm competing with 4.0 students, for highly impacted programs, and I see their grades in the classes compared to mine, and it kills me. The other day I was contemplating on changing majors, but to be honest, I can't think of a better major for me than nursing. It's what I truly want to do. But these grades are telling me otherwise, and as hard as I study, go to tutoring, have study groups, and take notes, I fear that it'll all go down the drain. So I guess I'm looking for people out there that can send a little hope that has been trough something similar. A lot of people here complain about having one grade away from straight A's, so that may not be the best application to my situation. And if you did manage to read this whole rant, let me thank you. Honestly, thank you.
  3. I'm on my second year, and I've taken Nutrition, Psych, HDev, Statistics, Anatomy, 2 English classes, Anthropology, and a few general ed classes (3) This fall, I'm taking Microbiology w/lab, Chem2A w/lab, Socio, and Phil! wooohoo Next spring I'm hoping to get the Chem 2B class and the physiology w/lab class along with COMM.
  4. So I'm applying for the Fall 2014 program, and I have one concern that deals with the prerequisite courses that I will still be taking by the time the application is due. Most CSU nursing applications are going to be due sometime around January-Febuary. This is during the Spring semester, when I will still be taking the last of my prerequisites, which are Physiology, 2nd level (last level) Chemistry, and a Communications class. Does this mean that I cannot apply for the Fall 2014 program, since I wouldn't have my grades for those three prerequisite classes in? Does that also mean that I have to wait another year to get into the next Fall 2015 program? :\ Background (if needed): I'm at a community college and this is going to be my second year.
