When does Evening shift begin and end? When does night shift begin and end?

Pretty certain there is some variation by hospital and region; even by department. Our ORs and ICUs have different start and stop times. General floors not running exclusively 12 hour shifts (we have a few) have evenings from 1500-2330 and nights from 2300-0730.

Varies. Our 8 hour shifts are 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a. Our 12 hour shifts are 7a-7p, 3a-3p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a, 3p-3a, and 11p-11a. The nursing home I worked in prior to graduating nursing school was all 8 hour shifts, 6a-2p, 2p-10p, and 10p-6a.
Now, if you're talking about shift differentials, that varies too. My facility pays evening shift differential from 3p-11p and night differential from 11p-7a. Regardless of what shift is worked- it's all based on the time.

3-1 is evening 11-7 is nights, at least thats how the differentials pay out.
