Quick OR question?

Is it really hard for a male to become a male nurse in OR?

How do women (as a patient) feel about it and would I get a stare from a patient? Plus does a patient have the right to ask for a female instead of a male nurse?

As an OR manager I have had no problems with male RN's. It's good to have males around to balance out a very female population. The only time they are asked not to be in a case is with a VIP female patient who is having gyne surgery. Would hire a male any day!
