Hi, i am currently in high school and thinking about a career as an RN...I live in Canada but i want to attend college in the US and then i want to try and get sponsored for a green card through my employer so i can live and work in the US.
I am wondering if i should rack up the debt getting a 4 year BA or just get a 2 year associates? im male and i have heard that male RN's are wanted more than female ones...
so my question is, would i have a hard time finding an employer to higher me and sponsor me for a green card if i just have an associates?
thanks!

The issues will be whether on completion of your training in the US that retrogression has either been lifted or something similar to Schedule A is in place. With retrogression you can not adjust your visa to GC although if Canadian citizen you do have the option of TN and working whilst waiting. Suzanne will probably be able to give a clearer explaination on your question but may be busy with work at the moment
thanks, but i dont quite understand lol
Could you explain it easier for me?
I can get sponsored for a green card by any hospital or employer willing to higher me right?

Male RNs are wanted no more and no less than female RNs. You won't get any special treatment just because you're a male nurse trying to get a GC.

FYI -
Higher = above
Hire = employ
You can get petitioned/sponsored by any employer you want, but there must be a visa available for you to be able to start work for them.
