did questions in saunders what other study tips does anyone have?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have failed the boards too many times in the past. All I keep hearing about is Suzanne's plan. So I went out and bought the book and followed her first step by doing all the questions at the end of the chapters (moving on if 75% or reading the chapter if not then getting a 90% or above). I am currently working on my 15 legitimate posts and just wanted to know if anyone had any study suggestions in the meantime. I am a hard worker and if the study plan you reccommend me worked for you i am willing to try it until I can possibly become a part of suzanne's plan. All I want is to become a pediatric RN nurse and am willing to do anything to get it.

I have failed the NCLEX once....too scared to take it again....but I know I have to, pretty soon....I finished Saunder's like Suzanne said...I also need to make 15 posts in order to pm her....if you have a kaplan book, try studying that...i am working on that now....

We are all in a similar situation. I too need 15 posts. :)

I have answered so many of these questions. FINALLY today, I actually made 80% on one of these quizzes. :monkeydance:

I took the NCLEX in 1980 and passed first go round. I don't think my classmates expected me to pass because they all aced the final and I made a C. I was so scared going into that final that I started reading into the questions more than was there. At the time, I bought one of the study books like Saunders and then worked through various questions. I was in Georgia and had to travel to Macon to take the test. We all drove up together and stayed in a motel. I went shopping the night before. I figured if I didn't know that stuff by then, I was never going to know it. Many of my friends stayed up to the wee hours of the morning studying. I passed. They didn't. I think that this idea of pacing yourself is such wise counsel. I forget if it was was Suzanne or someone else that said that they did what I did and passed. It just makes sense to let your brain cells take a break the day before and do something that helps you relax.

i am also planning to take nclex exam date,i finished Saunder/kaplan book...i wants to follow up Suzanne plan so i need to make 15 posts in order to pm. i already did 3/4 posting really intrested to follow that plan.....it plans will take nearly 45 days.

Does anyone know what qualifies as a "post"? For example, does my reply to this thread count as a "post" or do I have to start a new topic to have it count? I too am starting Suzanne's plan and I'm working on the 15 legitimate posts. I was just confused as to what qualifies!

As of today, Suzanne's plan is no longer available through this site. Suggest you continue to do the questions in Saunders and study the rationales for all the answers, correct and incorrect. Good luck to everyone.

I was wondering. I finally met her criteria and went back and then..... I couldn't find the note I had seen when I got here. Why can't she just make her suggestions public? If she is concerned because one person didn't do well, that is not her fault. Several people here are grateful that she helped them. I would just like to get some direction from those who have done this before. There appears to be a maze of opinions on these tests and questions.

I hope with all my heart that she is okay...IFsomebody was already help by suzanne on her plan pls can anybody share it with us i already failed the exam second time i dnt wanna fail again, pls can anybody help me,i am lost on what to do nxt..

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Suzanne has spent a lot of time on her plan and it works because of how she does it and making it public to her means that it will not be followed properly. We have to respect her wishes that her plan isn't made public

Ive seen other posts saying if you follow suzanne's plan religiously itll work...

caliotter, what happened? why is suzanne's plan not available anymore? Man i mustve been gone for a looooong time..
