75 questions..all peds almost!!!!

Published

OH my gosh. WHAT was that?! I took it this AM (RN) and my gosh..I feel like I never made it out of peds!!! I"M SO WORRIED!!!! Would it really do that?! Would it just keep you in a weak area and then flunk you??? Without giving you a rounded test????

I'm serious this thing seemed at least ...at least, 50 percent peds. EVEN THE PRIORITY (the last 1/3) /harder level were involving peds!!! I happen to know that is the weak part and the educational weak part for me so...I'm so worried :((

I'd say it was almost 1/3 peds...1/3 upper level priority questions...and maybe 1/3 general basic/random pathyophys/disease with a good shot of meds in there. Some meds I'd never even heard of.

But what gets me is when you combine the basic peds questions along with the upper level questions....it's like all peds!!! AHHHH!!!! I can't believe they would do that!!! ??????

And then it shut off at 75...and I was like...NOOoooooo I can do more...I'm better at other subjects :(

Its going to be a very long 48 hours.

Has anyone else experienced a concentration in 75 questions and passed?? Is 1/3 of the test (consistenly harder priority questions) the norm??

The majority of my test was Neuro. I did great in neuro in school and know I did ok with them on the test. Did you notice when you get one priority right, that the next question was a priority also? That's how I knew I passed the test right when I was done. I got like 9 priority questions in a row! Then when I'd get one wrong, the next question wasn't priority. To me, the test was really obvious.

Hmmm...I didn't get lot of priority questions in a row, but I did get a lot of them. My computer shut off at 75 and I was the same way. I thought, "No! I need to answer more! I haven't proven myself yet!! I have answered to many questions wrong!" I am convinced that I failed. I had a lot of infection control. I had 1 question on a disease that my mom has, and I answered 99% of those questions right on my practice tests, so that's the only answer I feel good about. Who knows...The test was exactly like Kaplan, so I was relaxed thru the whole test. I didn't get any questions that seemed to be in a foreign language. On some of the questions all 4 answers looked like the "best" or "first" thing you'd do, but most of the time I could narrow it down to 2. I just can't wait till 10:30am on Saturday when my results will be up. I just want to know if I passed or failed so I can move on with my life, whether it is to be an RN or to keep studying until I am an RN. I have never prayed so much in my entire life. :scrying:

Well, lets see...I had maybe a couple priority in the middle...maybe a couple pick all.... ad then it sort of was random/like school.....the first 2/3 (except such a high concentration on peds even though I hat a small smattering of ob/ortho and endocrine - very small smattering!).... so the first 2/3 of the test seemed like an easier level though not easy....at all. But when I hit my last 25 or so questions...they were like ALL priority one after the other...blam blam blam.... who would you see first, which will you do first..who will you call first..who will you respond to first...over and over...and then it shut off. :chair: I knew lots of ppl shut off at 75..so when I hit the enter button, I held my breath and watched and for a few seconds this gray screen popped up and I was like..wait a second, what is this, a break? Where is the blue screen? And then the blue screen popped up and I was like YES I don't think I can do anymore peds!!!!! And then as I drove home I was like...OH NO..it was sooo much peds it seemed to me at least....I hope that's not bad!! I did manage to maintain at the priority stuff and it never once went back to easier questions so ....is that a good sign?? :chair: :scrying:

I hear ya. That is how I felt...all around.

I guess as I look back over this more...I had a few infection/safety control too.... and a smattering of endocrine, other disease, ortho... but the peds just seem to dominate... so I guess I didnt' have ALL peds.. ;) But still man it's so heavy on them it makes me nervous.

I was thinking I'd be handling it a bit better....the stress..... but then I just got out 2 hours ago so maybe I need to give myself a couple more hours...I don't even drink alchohol but i sure thought about grabbing a beer at the store!! HA AAA

So did you pass ?

Yep. 75 questions in about 55 minutes. Priority is always a good sign, many priority in a row is a really, really good sign!

Awesome! On both accounts! :D Then I passed!! HA HA HA HA... I don't know....I hope so..I got about 20 to 25 priority one after the other then that thing shut off. Well there were a couple select all that apply in there too but mostly all priority.... and man..it was like...all 4 patients were swirling the drain and they want to know who am I responding to first...sheesh... it was like working the ED ha .

I know how you all feel, I had no ped or ob questions, Mostly priority who would you see first, what would you assign to a nurse, at least 8-10 select all that apply. Computer stopped at 75 and I kept saying wait i still need to prove myself. I felt that I could narrow down the questions for the most part down to two answers and then from their it was a crap shoot. The next 48 hours were filled with anxiety but passed with 75 questions. What a bad test. There were a few medication problems with medications I never heard of. I wish you all the best of luck on your results.

Congrats on your pass!!!!:pumpiron:

Honestly, I'm surprised they don't put some math calcs on there! I had not one... a few meds but mostly side effects...some tests, preps etc..which I was surprised about... I guess they fell into teaching. But only one question w/labs in it and even that was a teaching question ha!

And here I made sure I would get any math questions right by making sure I refreshed calcs in my mind! I even sat down and wrote up all the labs normal values on my write sheet..after the test began at the beginning so I'd know them and...had only one lab question ha. At least i knew what it was ...but I didn't really like all the choices!! I was like they all stink!! ha! So I picked the worst stiinkage. I hope it was right ha.
