Hi,
I just took my state boards for PN this past Thursday and ended up taking the full amount of 205 questions. I'm very nervous/anxious to see how I did. Some people say that it depends on your last question. Well my last question on my test was, "What do you mix Metamucil with?" So obviously I picked water. I pray that I passed but I was just wondering how many people have taken or know people that have taken the NCLEX-PN and answered 205 questions and how they did. Thanks for any help. Have a great day!

I believe that the further you go on the exam, if the questions get gradually harder, it is a good sign, so I'm not sure what it would mean for you to end on an easy question. The way NCLEX works, it starts off with easier ?'s, and if you get them right, they gradually get harder. If you get one wrong, the next question would be slightly easier, and wouldn't get harder until you start getting them right again. But, then again, I've talked to people who ended up getting every single question and passed, and others who took every question & failed. I don't know that there's a really good way of predicting whether you passed or not based on number of ?'s. Let us know how you did!

On the NCLEX, the questions do start easier and then get harder. That is how the computer tests to see if you are a really good guesser or you actually know your stuff. All it does is test for MINIMUM Competency. There is a line that is passing and you have to have more questions above than below. So you could take the minimum number and fail just as easy as you passed, and the same for the maximum number of questions. AND...some unfortunate souls get all the questions, no matter what. :trout: These are the validation tests. I don't know if the questions on the validation tests get harder, or are randomly given to you. Oh, and about 15 questions or so are just "test" test questions, they are being tested for future use on the NCLEX. I took the RN NCLEX and had 75 and passed but I also have had 4 friends take all the questions, 3 passed and one failed.

Yes, you may have passed. I know one person who took the maximum amount of questions and passed. On the other hand I also know a person who took the maximum amount of questions and barely failed.
