103 Questions on NCLEX

I just took the NCLEX-RN this morning and it shut off after 103 questions. I don't remember what the last question was, but I do not remember feeling the last question was hard. What are the chances that I passed? I have to wait 48 hours for the unofficial results.

Thank you!

If you are a US educated candidate, 85% pass first try. Number of questions is irrelevant as is the perceived difficulty of the last question.

No one, and I mean ABSOLUTELY no one, can offer you the "chances" that you passed. If you're a first-time test-taker, I can tell you that approximately 85% pass (regardless of the number of questions). The number of questions answered doesn't mean much at all for you. You could have passed. You could have failed. ZERO way of knowing.

How "hard" a question might be isn't a good way of determining whether it's above or below passing standard. A 'hard' question for one person is an easy one for another, and vice versa. And answering a question correctly only really matters if it's above the passing standard. Since you could, theoretically, have continued for another 160 questions, it's not likely it determined you were incompetent at that point and shut off, unless you were SO far below passing standard there was no point in continuing. MORE likely is that you were able to demonstrate competency at that point. At least, for your sake, I hope so!

Hang in there. 48 hours isn't a big deal in the scheme of things; I remember waiting too but overall, it won't kill ya, I promise :)

Thank you so much for the responses! Hopefully I will find out in 2 days that I passed! :)

Go clean the house, do laundry, grocery shopping, walk the dog. Keeping busy absolutely helps!
