Questions about ECT?

There is a really good book written by Kitty Dukakis and Larry Tye entitled "Shock". I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the info...I may check it out.

So what is your question about ECT? (per your subject line).

I interpreted it as the OP asking if others had questions about ECT, and recommending the book if they do.

I don't have any questions about ECT. I was just recommending the book for anyone who does. On a side note, I never realized the movie portrayal of ECT in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was inaccurate. Muscle relaxants, anesthesia, and continuous oxygenation were in regular use by the early 1950s.

As for McMurphy's final vegetative state in the movie, it was a by-product of lobotomy.
