Question Trainer Scores going down

All you Kaplanees, help!

I am completing the RN Kaplan Live Online class... my class starts tomorrow, so I am supposed to finish the diagnostic test and three question trainers before then. When I finished my diagnostic test, I was feeling pretty good, a 71. Then I took trainer 1... 72. Cool! Getting better! Then, trainer 2 (these were not all on the same day)... 61. What!?!?!?! Not feeling real good about it, but I complete some qbank sets, getting in the 60's, then today, I took trainer 3............. 56. Darn it all. 56. Seriously? I just want to cry.

So, I am hoping you'll tell me that it's supposed to be that way, because the tests are getting that much harder, and now I am answering questions above the passing level... but I know that it's probably not the case. Am I taking them too quickly (not enough time in between)? Am I worrying too much (could be)? With every test, I feel more and more confident, but honestly, missing 44 questions out of 100 sucks.

What does this mean?

Don't stress too much, your scores are similar to what mine were before I took Kaplan. You haven't even taken the class yet and it sounds like you're overloading yourself. Try taking more time between the trainers. I did about one trainer a week and 2 fifty question Qbanks per day for 4 days. So every 2 or 3 days I took a day off. My instructor told our class not to do more than 100 questions in a day (unless it was a trainer) and to split the questions into groups. Fatigue will lower your scores. To be tired and not thinking straight is not going to help you. Try to relax, you know your stuff. You'll be fine. :) Good luck!

I would not be so concerned with these scores. The NCLEX is known for being unpredictable and it could go either way regardless of predictor scores. Concentrate on learning the material.
