Could i be hired as an ob nurse with an adn?? Im a bit skeptical because every job post that i look at for an ob nurse, qualifications always state bsn preferred but it doesnt say "required"... Also is there any kind of training that can help be before i can be considered for the l&d unit? Thanks.

Just as an FYI, a more descriptive subject line will likely draw you more answers. :)

You can certainly be an L&D nurse with an ADN. However, it all depends on the hospitals in your area whether or not they're hiring RNs with an ADN, or whether they prefer a BSN. If they prefer the BSN, and there are a lot of 4 year schools in your area, it might be worth the extra time to go for the BSN if you can afford the time and money.

preferred probably means "with experience if you are ADN". However, many hospitals hire ADN nurses for OB. Give HR a call or go online to their job listings.
