I am a new grad.

Can you work in the PACU as a new graduate if it is a PRN position?

Others may chime in and differ with me, but in my experience in every state I've worked in, PRN positions in any specialty are generally given to nurses already experienced in the area in which they are applying.

Training someone who is either a new grad or new to a particular specialty is a full-time job for a period ranging from several weeks to several months depending on the specialty and/or prior experience before they can function independently without a preceptor.

In addition, there may be other job markets that I'm not aware of, but I rarely, rarely see PACU positions given to new grads anywhere I've lived/worked.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but the only PACU nurses I've ever encountered who were hired into PACU as new grads were hired that way 15+ years ago and the job market may have been different back then.

Most want some ICU experience beforehand.
