Yes, thank-you very much for your prompt response.

I am aware of this site. It is very general. I am looking for more technical information, but do not know how to go about acquiring the more technical info.

My question is how does one get their hands on survey results and the plan of correction that a LTC claims they have implemented. If one notes on the Medicare.gov site a facilty it will state that a plan of correction was put into place, but without any definitive plan. How does one go about getting that information?

In Texas, survery results have to be posted in a public area, where any one can see them. (We were cited on this one a couple of years ago..the results themselves were not posted, but a notice saying "Ask for the results at the Nursing station" The actual results are now posted on a BB in the hall near the station)
If not the case where you live, there should be an ombudsman's
office..
Or, the state agency that oversees LTC facilities should be online..

any other typos will be left for the reader to correct in his own mind...

i believe that on your state's dept of public health website, there's a section on 'public records'. if you want to find out about a particular facility, they provide you w/instructions on how to request this info (including deficiencies and plans of correction). they will charge a nominal fee for the search, retrieval, running off copies and mailing requested data to you.

In Missouri, Illinois and Florida (and I assume all other states) each individual LTC facility must have a copy of the survey results and the plan of correction in plain view for residents, families and staff to look at. Also, re-survey results must also be available

The previous survey results have to be posted in a spot that all visitors can get to it. Do you work in the facility that you are looking for the results? Just ask someone in administration. It is not top secret. Most facilities would have had to educate the staff on the POC so they at least will have a vague idea.
