I take Synthroid and metformin. I take the metformin for type 2, not for PCOS. I am 39 and TTC #4. I have recently had someone tell me her doctor told her that they could give her metformin in her quest to concieve, but that she shouldn't take it with her Synthroid. They went as far as to tell her the SE's could be deadly (her words, not mine).
I have never been cautioned about anything like this and was wondering if anyone out there knew about these supposed SE's.
TIA,
tvccrn

there is a drug interaction between both of these meds -- listed on pharmacy printout --best place to check or look up drug online from reputable drug sources. http://www.drugs.com/metformin.html
the medical condition a person has will affect performance of a medication along with any other meds someone takes. please contact pharmacist and prescribing provider as they can best assist you.
