have a question about School Transcript

Published

I passed the nursing board exam in CA. I want ot transfer my license to TN, but the TN board needs my copy of Certificate from Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing School (CGFNS) or School transcript because I graduated my nursing degree from my country. The problem is, I didn't have CGFNS before I took the NCLEX-RN exam because CA doesn't need it so I want to give them my School transcript. Could you tell me what is a School transcript and how I can get it ?

Secondary and post secondary school transcripts are records of your academic work. Besides courses taken along with grades and your GPA, transcrips may also list awards, disciplinary action, class rank/percentile standing and so forth. In the United States when stamped and signed by the school's registrar a transcript becomes a legal document and that version is almost always what is requested.

You'll need to contact your former school's registrar's office to find out how they deal with transcript requests. Normally one fills out a form giving certain information (name, SSN, dates of attendance and or graduation, etc...) and instructing where one wishes the copies sent. There is often a small fee charged for such requests.
