This is going to soud silly but I an interviewing for a management position and I have 2 letters of recommendation that were written for me just after graduation by 2 different professors. They are dated 2008. Do you think these are too old to send?

Usually with letters of recommendation they request that they be no more than a year old. 3 years is too old in my opinion.

yes, they are too old --they pertain to your skills as a student not as a professional nurse. recommendation letters should be current and focus on skills you would bring to position you are currently applying. since this is a management position, letters should focus on leadership and management skills ie charge nurse ability, problem solving skills, conflict resolution, any committees participated, further education, management training etc.
wondering why you can't get hired or promoted: resume + interview hints! sticky has info on management interview questions.

I agree with the others. Unless the letters specifically address something like a groundbreaking management capstone project, it's old news.
You need some more recent recommendations
thanks everyone! I didnt send them!
