Question about Question Trainer 7

I just took the last question trainer in Kaplan and ended up getting a 58. But my application and analysis was decent...a 59% and 56%. I mean I know technically I'm supposed to get a 65...but i figured anywhere from 55-60 was good enough..since you only need to get 50% right on the real NCLEX. I just pretty much want some reassurance. I feel somewhat ready to take the NCLEX. Anyone been through this situation and still passed the NCLEX???

I did all 7 question trainers, and got in the 50s. They want you to have 65 to pass with confidence. I just passed with 75 questions, and know a few others who did also while scoring in the 50s with Kaplan. Kaplan questions are the hardest I've done, and found the boards to be a lot less difficult then Kaplan.

I would suggest looking at the bottom of the analysis page, see how you do with Bloom's taxonomy. From what they told us in the course these are the harder questions, the type Nclex is looking for you to answer correctly. Whilr I didn't do much better than a 68% on the trainers, I would do in the high 70's with this section. I just took the Nclex today so I'm not really sure of how I ended up.

For the application and analysis..it varied..but i was always in the upper 50's and 60's...got an 85 and 100 once for analysis..so i think im ok with those.

Thanks for the reasurance studentnurse74. I've heard that the boards were alittle easier than Kaplan (Kaplan is just plain hard!!!)...hopefull ill pass then...

I hope boards are easier than Kapan b/c I have been in the 50's too!

Boards are easier than Kaplan! I too wondered the same thing - I think the hightest score I got was a 72% on any of the tests. I just passed with 145 questions! My only advice is not to panic if you go beyond 75 questions - I kind of did but then I took a breather and regrouped!
