Question about nursing...

I don't know about TX, but here in WA we use CNAs all the time. Lots of nursing students that I have known did this through nursing school.

Here in Houston we still use lots of CNA's in every hospital that I know of. I see that you're an EMT. Another option for you would be to work as a tech using your EMT cert, but you would likely be restricted to working ER or maybe ICU and the process of transferring EMT certification from NY to TX might take a long time. You could find out more from the Texas Dept of State Health Services. (www.dshs.state.tx.us and click on EMS/Trauma Systems)

each state is different in their requirements as are each school. you may wish to make some contacts with some of the schools in texas before you start any classes to find out first. here is a link that may get you started:

to create your own new thread (the first post to start off feedback), you do this:

in any forum, go to the top yellow bar and towards the right, you will see something that reads--> forum tools. it is a pull down menu. click it. in that menu, you will see--> post a new thread. click that.

and there you go.....just follows what it tells you.
