When I go into a pts room can I have my grid in my pocket and then pull it out before each assessment to refer to, then place in back in my pocket? I ask because I know I will have alot on my mind and looking at the grid before each assessment might keep me focused on what I need to do and slow me down. I tend to rush when I get anxious. Does this sound stupid and would I be able to do this????

You sure can. You can pull your paper out in between each step if you get confused. Just make sure if your doing a procedure, dont cross contaminate pulling your paper out.
Thanks!!! This makes me feel better.

I warned my patients that I would be referring to a "checklist" throughout my time in their rooms to ensure that I provided them with complete care. They understood. The CE alerts them ahead of time so they know they'll have a student nurse, and the patients agree to it.
