hi i was wondering if you guys could tell me how many days before you start an assignment can you move into an apt? ill be going to phoenix from boston and although my sis and bro live there and have houses there n i could stay with them before i get the apt i just want to know...i dont want it to be like one day before the assignment cuz ill need a couple of days to get settled in. Also, do you need to move out the day after your assignment is complete?

Thanks guys!

My experience has been 1-2 days. I am taking care of my own housing on my next assignment. I will be moving in 3 days prior to my start date as I have to get utilities turned on and all that good junk. I am trying to take care of all that stuff in advance via the phone. I have found this can be a pain in the backside.

Usually my move in date is on the Friday before a Monday morning contract start. This gives plenty of time to settle in.

thanks for the replies...so when do you guys usually have to move out by once the contract is over?

The latest is the monday morning after the contract ends. Usually they end on Saturday. No contract and then the agency is not paying rent for you.

But these are things that you need to get in writing from your agency before you even leave for Phoenix. If it is not in writing it does not exist.
