Question About Interview Today

Had an interview with OR manager and 3 OR nurse peer review. I think it went great, but was wondering how the nurse recruiter fits into the hiring process. Does she have any say in who gets hired or does she just direct qualified candidates to the managers? Thanks

They just direct applicants and the manager gets the final say. Actually on my unit we use the same process of peer review and our manager uses our input to decide to hire the person or not.

The nurse recruiter usually kind of orchestrates the hiring process. They screen the candidate and hand pick the ones that make the cut to meet the directors of the unit that the candidate is applying for. Depending on the hospital I think they ultimately do have some veto power but my experience has been that if they select you for an interview with the management of the unit, they're not going to be voting against you. The final decision is usually up to the management of the unit. Of course, if something bad came up in your reference checks or something they would be responsible for notifying the manager.

Thanks for replies. It was strange becuase they were giving me info usually given to new employees. I couldnt have been more enthusiastic in the meeting, asked lots of questions and knew info about the hospital. Hoping for the best!
