Pvt - I got 2 different messages??? Took nclex rn this morning

Published

I took my nclex rn at 2 this afternoon. I think it shut off at 80 or 85. I didn't use the white board at all. When I first got into my car after my exam, i tried the trick and got a message like " candidate already registered contact Pearson" I don't remember exactly.. Now a few minutes ago I tried to log in again and it told me my results were on hold. Why did this happen??

I know they go on hold when they are reviewing my videos etc.. But I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and it took me an hour and a half to complete the 85 questions. The only thing I can think of is that the computer spelled my name wrong but it was correct on my ATt and license so the lady let me take it.

Is the first message I got the " good " message, and why did my results switch? I am a wreck about this...

It won't necessarily work immediately after you finish. The board has to receive your results first...I believe it will say "Delivery Sucessful." If it does say that, then there may be another reason your results are on hold. What state are you testing in?

And it did say delivery successful both times. I just checked again and results are still on hold :(

I had the same thing happen. What I was told is some people have their results held to review their video tape. I finished quickly so they held mine.

Also, I believe there are 2 pop ups you can get. One that means nothing. Which is what I believe I got and perhaps you did also. Then there is the "good" pop up. That says please contact you board of nursing...

My results are still on hold

Results on hold can mean anything. Could be there was some trouble with the palm/finger print machine. Who knows. The hold will clear after 48 hours.

The "recently scheduled this exam" or whatever popup all that means is you tried the trick too soon.

I hope you get good results soon!!

Thanks for your responses. The wait is brutal. My 48 hour mark is tmrw. Around 2. I will log in after work and let you know if the news is good or bad. I have a 3.5 Gpa in nursing school and I cannot believe how hard my nclex was. I am convinced I failed and I already started my job last Monday. :( this is horrible...

Everyone walks out of the exam thinking they failed. EVERYONE. I don't care what they say to you in person or post on these forums.

I too was sure that I failed the exam. Took it on Thur, June 20. Had all 265 questions and took over 4 hours. I even know for sure that I got the last question wrong (some people have said that if you go all the way to 265, if you get the last question wrong, you fail and if you get it right, you pass-- not necessarily true at all). The PVT gave me the good pop up shortly after I took the exam.

Sure enough, two days later (actually to be more precise, about 49 hours after I began the exam), quickresults came up for me on PearsonVue and I was able to confirm that I PASSED!!!!

And yes, you will feel like you are making a guess on nearly every question. I sure did. Remember it's not the number of questions you get right; it's the level of difficulty of the questions you do get right. NCSBN says that each question you get, you should have about a 50% chance of getting right, because it matches the difficulty of questions up with your estimated ability based on your answers to previous questions. Anytime you're getting about 50% of questions right, you're going to fail like you're failing-- because in the real world, a 50% IS a fail.

Yeah I'm in the same boat and it's the weekend. Did you ever find out? How long did it take after your results were held?
