Hi all!
I've been in ALL of your shoes - nervous, anxious, stressed, etc about the NCLEX. But, if I can do it, you all can! I wasn't an honor student in my LVN program, I just got average grades. I stressed ALOT when it came to the NCLEX, as all of you are! But, I just got my letter confirming that I passed! And YES, the pvt DOES work!!
How I passed:
I didn't study months before my test date, only about 2-3 weeks before the test. I only used Saunders 2 books (the green book and the pink book) and also the NCSBN online. I did a lot of practice questions, and I think that's what helped the most. I used the Saunders CD majority of the time, spending about 1-3 hrs a day studying. And the last week I studied about 5 hours a day (remembering to take breaks of course). But if you want my advice - THINK POSITIVELY! DO PRACTICE QUESTIONS OVER AND OVER. TRY YOUR BEST TO ANSWER THEM CORRECTLY. AND YOU MUST READ THE RATIONALES, WHETHER YOU GOT THE QUESTION RIGHT OR WRONG!! Also, pray! The Lord is Good!
When it came to my test date, I wasn't even nervous. I went through the test in 1 hour, and my heart was pounding hard ONLY when I came to around question 80. On #84, my heart was racing! When I hit 85, the computer shut down. I was soo nervous AND relieved that I started crying. I got about 6 pharm, no math, no drop and drag, and about 2 SATA. The rest were random, like prioritization, peds, etc.
If I can do it, you ALL can!!!! Good luck to all! I'm now on my journey to look for a job, and continue onto my RN!

omg your story is so inspiring!! Im taking mine this upcoming tues and I swear I think Im going to into hear failure lol. My heart is racing and I have to take deep breaths. Ive been doing questions and reading rationales too. I hope I pass!!
I know EXACTLY how you feel! Deep breaths do help, and so does fresh air! First off, think positive!! You WILL pass!! And yes, questions will help you a lot. Remember to try to practice prioritizing-type questions. Since you're taking yours on Tues, you should definitely take tomorrow off! That's what I did - took it off, spent time with family and enjoyed ourselves, and my mind was off the test all day! When the test day came, I felt good, relaxed, and was ready to PASS!! Good luck to you! You will do great!!!
Thank you so much! I will post on tues my results!

i am taking my nclex-rn in the summer. I am not sure where and how to begin my studies. Should I study the topic and then go through questions relevant to the topic...should I start with questions and study what is mentioned in those questions? I have Saunders comprehensive review with CD (questions) and Kaplan nclex-rn. I also have NCLEX -rn 3500
