PVAMU Spring 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has applied to the PVAMU nursing program for Spring 2021? I was wondering if my HESI score of 92% overall was competitive enough to get in? I'm super nervous!!

Is it a first come first serve basis? I just recently applied to the program and the deadline is September 1.

Thanks! Hoping to hear back from someone.

Hi,

I also applied to PVAMU nursing program for Spring 2021. My HESI score is not that high.... 83% with a 950 on critical thinking.I am not sure if they will accept me, but I took a chance. They also need economics and speech which am taking at HCC. 92% is high... they should accept student with that score. This is one school I don't know or understand how they admit to their program. I will keep searching to find out. Will post it hear if I find out. Yeah their deadline is Sept 1st. Someone told me that they rejected someone with a high GPA and HESI score just because her letter of recommendation letter did not have the letter head of the school that the Professor who wrote the letter teaches at! LOL thats crazy! Thats all I have for now. Stay safe yall!

I was reading previous forums and they've accepted students with HESI scores of 81% and average GPA so keep your head up, 83% it's still pretty amazing!

And OMG no way about the letter heads! I'm not sure how my professors sent in my letters of recommendation, but now I'm hoping they sent it with the letter head LOL.

When I took the HESI, I took it without the critical thinking portion, so I'm actually taking that tomorrow. How was it for you?

Hi,

The critical thinking part was not bad at all. I am an LVN so most things they asked, I knew already. I also joined a HESI study group on facebook and that helped too. U are taking the HESI with Proctor U? Thats how I took mine in June.Did u join any study group to help you? WOW! really? They have accepted someone with an 81%? Hmmm so some hope for me then.LOL! I was almost tempted to retake it, but I said NO. Did u apply to other schools as well? Yes I told my 2 instructors to write the letter with a letter head and they did that.

Yeah I'm taking mine with Proctor U as well, and no I didn't joint a study group =( I just got 2 recommended books by some people on Youtube and used those loll I applied to Lone Star as well but I completely overlooked the part where they need critical thinking. And they only accept CT with the whole exam but you can't take it before 60 days and I had taken mine in June as well.

PV said they would allow me to take CT separately even though I took the rest of the portions in June, so I was happy about that. So I'm crossing my fingers for an acceptance LOL

WOW! OK thats good! Yep.... I also applied to Chamberlain , UT Houston and TWU. The waiting game has started. LOL! I don't like putting all my eggs in one basket. So am applying everywhere. Hoping to get into any of these schools by next year.

oh WOW!! nice! Did u also take TEA's or just the HESI? I'm from Canada, so the HESI in general is all new to me, so I keep messing up on some admission requirements for different schools LOL

Do y'all know if PVAMU does Summer courses?

Yes I took the TEAS for TWU. Very tough. Tougher than HESI. Yep.....
