pumping

I just got accepted into the nursing program for fall :lol2:

I just had a baby and I'm currently breast feeding. Does anyone know if the school will allow me to pump

especially during clinical?

I have had a nursing mother in every one of my classes and they were always able to excuse themselves from class if they needed to. They mainly did it at breaks to not disrupt the class and not miss anything.

At clinical there are rooms that are specifically for nursing mothers so pumping was easy for them.

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I wanted to give you a tip - make sure you have a good quality double electric pump. I exclusively pumped for a total of 10 months, and if you are pumping a lot, they are definitely a necessity.

Congrats on the new little one and on being accepted!

Yes they will!!! Most hospitals provide a breast feeding room for their employees, just inquire about it. There was a woman in my ABSN program that delivered the weekend before finals (after 1st semester). She delivered saturday, took and passed her finals that Monday. We had a 4 week break (bonded with baby), when she returned she always has her breast feeding kit with her and would pump during breaks from class. Not to mention she had a 1 year old @ home. Best of Luck!
