Providence TIP Jan 2023 Program

I finally accepted the job offer today! here are answers to questions I asked the recruiter in case some of you have the same questions:

1. I did not see in the offer letter any minimum time requirement to work at Mission Hospital. Is there a contract I must sign as a new grad RN resident? If so, how long is the requirement? No specific time requirement how long she will work at Mission but the Residency Program will be a year
2. After finishing my first year as an RN resident in the ED, do I get automatically hired to the ED as a clinical nurse 2 or do I have to apply for a position? Would I get a salary increase after graduating the residency program?  After your first year, you would become RN II and that comes with a salary increase.  You do not have to apply for a position after orientation.
3. What is the nurse to patient ratio for the Mission Hospital emergency department?  4 to 1
4. When is the deadline for me to respond to the offer? We usually suggest to accept the offer within 24-48 hours but if the candidate needs more time, she may let us know as well as the reason
5. What hours during the shift would I be receiving night shift differential? Is it all hours worked after 7PM? Yes

It looks like most offers went out already. Just wondering if anyone has received a rejection letter from any of the hospitals. I interviewed for St. Joes and was told the interview went really well at the end but not have not heard anything from them. They told me 2 weeks and it’s been close to 3 now. It still says under consideration on the application status. Or does anybody know how long will take to get a rejection letter?

Hi all just wondering if anybody got a job offer at Holy Cross Mission Hills? I reached out to the recruiter and I have a feeling I didn’t get the position but she said she will try to tell me by the end of the week.  Still have some X-Mas hope!

They offered me a position on their oncology unit last week through email, but I was hoping for ICU or DOU. Me and the recruiter have been playing phone tag to discuss the details. I hope you get an email soon! 

Thanks! I figured all offers were in. I was surprised when she said my application hasn’t had any movement yet but she will know by next. Sometimes I wish they would say you didn’t get the job. It would be so much better LOL

did anyone get any info on what we can wear? can we wear any scrubs or is there a uniform? (IDK if it’s different at diff locations, I’m working at mission hospital and never got info)

Yeah, I asked my supervisor who is super helpful. I was told we buy our own scrubs and to make sure they're Royal Blue. They previously embroidered the side of their scrub tops to have something like "Providence RN" but are no longer having that on the uniforms (it sounds like they may have supplied the scrubs to employees back then).

Side note: Would anyone happen to know if there's a weekend differential?

No problem! I just wanted to mention I was speaking to one of my friends who is also going to be working as a new grad at Providence in the ED (not the one at Mission Hospital, though), and she was told me that they told her they don't have a uniform in the ED-- asked her to wear whatever colored scrub pants she likes and a Providence approved t-shirt. I don't want to lead you astray in the uniform since I'll be on ortho, so it might be different on my unit.

Hi there! I was recently hired for the Jan 2023 start in the ED at st Joe’s burbank. Is anyone else here also hired at st. Joe’s burbank? I haven’t really heard much in terms of health screening and onboarding and just wanna make sure I’m not missing anything. I’d love to connect!
