Sonoma State University (SSU) FNP - Fall 2026 Applicants!
The program director is extremely nice it's not necessarily an interview just a casual talk. He goes over details about the program (finding preceptors, clinical requirements, if you might want full versus part time) then basically talks about mandatory orientation, you cannot miss it and that will be final decision day of if you are FT or PT track with all other program information provided. They are taking 75 students - not sure how many applied. But call is very basic.

Sonoma State University (SSU) FNP - Fall 2026 Applicants!
I applied hoping to hear soon! I had asked a few local people that I know applied and they haven't heard anything either. I am currently in their open university program and taking courses for the FNP program through that - but fingers crossed I am admitted since I've been taking the courses ??♀️ I was hoping we'd hear last week since we are on Spring break right now until 3/27. I'm not sure how that will affect decisions since campus is closed. I know in our last FNP Q&A session we were told mandatory orientation is on 4/18 for those that are accepted. So I'd imagine they'd probably try to get notices out by 4/1 so people can plan ahead for orientation Fingers crossed for everyone!

Sonoma State University FNP - Fall 2025
Thank you! I appreciate your quick reply! For clinics - I'm assuming they give you the clinic info then you reach out and see if they have a preceptor available? Are you able to find your own preceptors also if the opportunity arises? If you don't mind I'm curious about the admission process as well. Was it relatively simple? I don't see that they seem to require any essay or letters of recommendation? Unless that's just not posted on the SSU nursing page. Also, once deadlines are done for applications when did you find out you were admitted - March? And was that for an August start? Also wondering your comments / thoughts on the competitiveness of the program and if you know how many students are taken for the program. thank you for the reply and help!!

Sonoma State University (SSU) FNP - Fall 2024
Hello All! Hoping someone can give me me a little info. I am currently in GCU's AGACNP program. However, I have been having thoughts about switching to FNP, I am in Santa Rosa and am looking into SSU FNP program, as GCU does not offer a FNP within CA. One of my difficulties with GCU's AGACNP program is we have to find our own preceptors which can be difficult especially since it is an actue care program. Is that how SSU's program is? Also are majorty of your classes online? I know this was a older thread and I am just looking for more info! Thank you!

I applied AGACNP haven't gotten contacted for an interview ? But I was told that they would be making admission decisions by the end of this month and if we didn't hear back by April 1 to contact the program. So I'd imagine based on that they are interviewing during the month of March? Not sure if that's how other programs are doing it

This is what the email said verbatim: "Thank you for your question. The review process will not impact applicants that met the February 1, 2023, deadline. You will be notified of admission decisions by the Office of Student Affairs when the review process is completed. If you have not heard from the school by April 1, 2023, please email me.“ This was from the director ------------------. So if you don't hear back by 4/1 reach out! Sounds like we should all be notified by then!

I applied to the AGACNP program. Submitted everything before the 2/1 deadline, but I know they extended. I contacted the program to see if that would change anything. I was told it wouldnt and we will know by 4/1/23 at the latest if we were accepted. I personally havent heard anythning from them yet.

That makes sense. Do you know when we know what our clinical schedule will be like? Do they let us know at orientation?

Hello All, So I just found out I was accepted into the Fall 2018 program, I am super excited but I had a couple questions I was hoping to get answered :) Could anyone give me any insight on what the schedule is like for the first semester? Our paperwork says it's pretty intense but I was wondering how time consuming it will actually be. We don't have orientation until July and I was hoping to get an idea as soon as possible so I can let my employer know. Thanks!

Thank you - I was wondering that as when I applied to SSU earlier this year through NursingCAS I never saw an option for a bridge program so that makes sense. Thanks again!!!

Thank you! I applied to SSU for Fall 2018 but didn't get in. I was super bummed but unfortunately they only take 20 something people and hundreds apply. If I get into the SRJC nursing program for Fall 2018 I will definitely look into the SSU bridge program. So, do you need to do the full two years at SRJC in their ADN program before you can bridge to SSUs BSN program? Also, are you in the SRJC ADN program right now?? If so do you mind if I ask you a few questions about that program?

Hi! I was wondering if you had the time if you could explain the SSU transfer program You mentioned above? Did you go that route? Or do you plan to? If so, do you need to get your ADN before heading into that program?
