I will be graduating in a little over 5 weeks. I have been searching for jobs online and starting to get worry. I don't want to work in LTC, hospice or home health. I also don't want to work 5 8's in a clinic. Is there anywhere else in the DFW area that hire LVNs?

Congrats everyone. I am currently in lvn school and graduate this August. I plan to bridge over to adn right away. Hoping to be able to take my hesi soon and apply for fast track in 2019. Do you guys know your schedule yet? I'm wondering if I would be able to work and go to school at the same time. I have all B's in science. I wonder if fast track applicants compete against reg track?

I have a 3.0 science GPA and still need to retake my HESI. I did not score high enough on my math portion when I took it last year.

Hi all. I'm scheduled to graduate in August *fingers crossed and have started to look at the different job postings out there. I'm starting to get nervous because the only job postings I see are mainly at LTC, plasma centers with starting pay from $15 to $20 tops. I'm starting to feel like I've wasted a whole year for such little pay. I do plan to bridge over to RN while working as a LVN. Before I started the program, I was working at a family practice (There are 9 clinics around the city) for about 2 years. My manager mentioned to me that they want to start looking into hiring LVN/RN because they only hire MAs right now and that I would have a job offer when done. My question is, can LVN be hired as charge nurses in clinics? I would like to propose this to my previous employer but don't want to sound crazy! Also, what would be a reasonable asking pay? I hope you get into the RN program and a spot opens up for me! I did get accepted into weatherford's LVN but I would much rather go to TCC just because it's a lot closer for me. Good luck to us both!

Thank you Megan. I do plan to continue school and go back for my BSN. The LVN option is currently the best route for my family and I as my husband is our only main income and I need to start working asap. I work at a clinic right now and have been offered a position as a LVN once finished. They are really flexible so I figured I can start working as a LVN and go back to school too.

Hi. I had planned to apply for the fall semester but my math hesi was not high enough to apply and ended up applying to the lvn program and got accepted as an alternate. Did anyone else apply for the lvn program?

How did you do on your finals? Mine was Monday and so glad I'm done with the semester. I've been literally checking my mail everyday hoping for a letter from weatherford. Lol

Ugh I got an acceptance email from weatherford but it was just saying im accepted into the college. I thought it was for the lvn. And we continue this wait....

Every time I get an email from weatherford I hope it's news about the lvn but it's just junk mail. Haha. My friend did get an email today about retaking the accuplacer for a higher score. They will be retesting for alternative spots. I don't know if that makes it good news or bad news for us though.

That's not bad. I'm in North Fort Worth near Keller. It took me about 45-50 mins when I dropped off my application. And that was without traffic!

Omg that would be awesome if we found out soon! I made B in both ap1 & 2 and micro. I'm still debating if I should retake them or not this summer. How far are you from weatherford?

Omg I know! I'm only taking life span. It was my last prereq needed for the rn program. What are you taking?
