  1. connie, hang in there, i understand. i am at a crossroads also, having worked as an rn for over 20 years, mojority of that in maternal child...l&d. now i am in a rural community that doesn't have a lot of l&d so i feel i am being redirected ...not sure where, but i know god led me here and i am sure he will put me where i am most needed. it sounds like this is what is going on with you also. before you give up on getting into the nursing program go talk to your advisor and see if there are other options, perhaps retaking a class. don't give up, sounds like you have wanted to do this for a long time, and hopefully it will happen. god will get us through this time, and put us where he needs us to be. sheila
  2. In my previous post I did not add that I had a 4th degree laceration with my first, so in light of that, I do feel that I should have had a c/s. If it is advised due to a medical condition, gestational size etc. I feel that a woman should be able to request, rather that than a should dystocia or bad outcome for any Mom or baby. Sheila C.
  3. I haven't seen very many here in Oklahoma, or in Kansas where I worked, but I did travel nursing in California and I had several....Sheila
  4. i was wondering the same thing that spiker did, and the answer is probably yes, they do rely on pumps, so calculating the gtt rate is a lost art...makes me feel old...or should i say older? sheila c
  5. I agree, we lived in Kansas for 20 years, then went to California, and now I am in Oklahoma living at our retirement home. With experience you can find a great job, lower pay , but much lower housing costs. Our home in Kansas is leased out. We don't pay 4,000 for both of our homes together...Now Oklahoma has a low pay...lower than Kansas. With experience though you should start at a higher rate...
