  1. Hey! I applied for their NP program and am anxiously waiting to hear back. Did you get the email about receiving decisions no later than April 10th?
  2. Loved your post -- especially how you included "Cliffs Notes" at the end of it :) Congrats, nurse! Best wishes!
  3. I used both - UWorld is great for content, and Kaplan is great for challenging NCLEX questions. Both are good for format-wise. I had to take a weekend-long Kaplan review course through my school, but I know UWorld is cheaper depending on how long you buy a subscription for. Overall, I ended up loving UWorld more.
  4. I took my test on 9/30/16, had 75 questions, and got all different types of pharm questions; if you go on the NCSBN website and look for the 2016 NCLEX outline, you'll see a very specific breakdown of the percentage of each topic of question to be asked.
  5. yes I passed! good luck to everyone :)
  6. I agree with Capriiverno! I took mine this past Friday, Sept. 30th and felt exactly like you guys did. I took a couple of days off, did my nails, watched movies, walked my dog, enjoyed the weather, etc. and I feel like that really helped. Hope your test went well today, please let us know how you did when you get your results :) Good luck!
  7. I agree with the above!! focus on the rationales and really review them and study them based on how you study best. For example, my cousin loved flashcards, she had hundreds of them with rationales for things and that was how she learned the material; I liked having a marbled notebook and just wrote everything down and highlighted stuff as I went. It depends on your study preference, but whatever you have to do to get those rationales to stick, do it, because UWorld has the best explanations in my opinion.
  8. NCLEX Date: 9/30/16 at 0800 I attempted the PVT and got the good pop-up at 28 hours (I was a huge chicken and too afraid), 36 hours, and 48 hours (my results didn't come thru until 0900 on 10/2/16) and I found out I passed :)
  9. UPDATE: Got my quick results & passed!! Thank you to everyone for your advice :)
  10. I have no guidance for you but I'm kind of in the same boat so I empathize 100%. I took my NCLEX yesterday (9/30) at 8am, finished in 75 questions which was super unsettling hahaha and am not anxiously waiting for my 48hours to be up:facepalm: I also got the good pop-up; I did mine about an hour ago. I think we'll be okay! I just wanted to let you know you're not suffering alone, we've got this! :)
  11. UPDATE: Just took my NCLEX today, a couple of hours ago! I realize in this post I had said I was taking it Thursday but I actually meant Friday oops! Anyway, had 20+ select alls, about 15 of them in a row (yes I counted), at least 3 ekg questions, some priority and infection control, and a little bit of everything in terms of topics. It shut off at 75, and my literal reaction (the woman watching me on the camera must've thought I was nuts) was "But I'm not done yet!?!?" So I don't know how to feel; I feel like I should be crying and I don't know if the reason I'm not is because I'm still in shock and still super stressed or if it's because in the very back of my mind I think I did ok. I really feel like it could have gone either way. But I did feel prepared walking into it; I took a break around question 53 to go to the bathroom and get a drink of water which definitely helped. 46 more hours to go, hopefully I can distract the hell out of my brain until then! Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice, it really helped :)
  12. I've heard great things about the LaCharity Priority, Delegation, and Assessment textbook! It has both case studies and questions sorted by topic. I'm using it myself and I think it's been super helpful so far, but I take the NCLEX tomorrow, so we'll see!
  13. Thank you! I will definitely go over lab values and iso precautions. Congrats on passing! I always forget about the LaCharity book but maybe I'll try a few questions tonight :)
  14. Thank you both!! Yeah I definitely had way too many resources to choose from, which is why I ended up using 3. I took a little bit of a break last night and I'm taking a bit of a break now and we'll see how it goes! Thanks again!
  15. So I have a puzzle for you all... To start off, my name is Regan, I am a chronic lurker of this website and will be taking my NCLEX for the first time this Thursday (9/29). I am super nervous (shocker, I know lol) and I have been doing progressively worse on my practice questions. I have been studying for about a month now. I have been primarily using the Kaplan q-bank, NCLEX RN Mastery App, and UWORLD, and sprinkled a bit of content studying in between all of this. I felt kind of confident until I recently noticed my scores in all of these study banks have been slowly decreasing. I don't know if this means I am overdoing it, and maybe need to take a break for a day? I have been studying pretty much every day for a month, anywhere from 2-8 hours a day. My main concern is that I have screwed myself over by putting the test off for too long (got my ATT on Sep. 3rd, graduated in mid-August and traveled abroad in between) and now I won't pass because I've completely fried myself. But at the same time, maybe in some twisted way it means I'm ready and I'm just at the point where I can't wait to be done?? Any and all advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
